Fun, Fun, Fun...

Hello everyone! We are very excited for the Super Bowl next weekend!!! Hopefully the Colts will beat the Saints. We are planning a neighborhood Super Bowl party and I will be sure to post photos of all the festivities next week! In the meantime, here is a pic of our littlest Colts fan... Ryan bought a smoker today. Here is a pic of him putting it together. It attaches to the side of our regular bar-be-que. I think he is going to smoke a brisket for all of us to enjoy during the football game. He LOVES to grill, just like his dad :) Have I ever mentioned how much I LOOOOOVE the webcam? Because I do! Here is a pic of me talking to my sister and nephew on Skype. I love our chats. We are so blessed to have access to this technology-AMAZING!!! There is still a little bit of snow on the ground, but a lot of it has melted. Our neighborhood is almost built out. This shot is out our back slider. No more empty spaces...
I FINALLY found a big enough piece of wrought iron to hang on the wall in our front entry way! I have been looking FOREVER and was never able to find what I was looking for until now... I also broke down and bought a single stool to use at the end of our island. Since it really isn't big enough for two, this seat was the perfect size and style to suit our kitchen. Now we can use the island as a work space for our laptop. Also, Ryan can do his homework/grading in the kitchen and keep me company when I am making dinner or packing lunches :) This weekend, the girls went out to Broad Ripple to celebrate Liz's 27th birthday! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday dear Liz...Happy Birthday to you!!!! Doesn't she look great??? It is so hard to believe she just had a baby!!! She looks AWESOME! In addition to the neighborhood pals, two of Liz's closest friends joined us. Natalie (the blonde is Liz's childhood friend) and I believe Jenn is Liz's friend from Purdue. CHEERS LADIES!!! I LOVE these girls!!! xo Sabrina and me :)We had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday, Liz! May this year bring you nothing but happiness!

Until next time...xo

Super Bowl Bound Baby!!!!

Hello everyone!!! We hope you are enjoying what is left of January. Ryan and I are busy with work and still sticking to our New Year's Resolution of losing weight, To date, I have lost 8 pounds and Ryan has lost 13. We still have more to go, but are making progress...Woo-Hoo! These pics of Ryan and Elise are from last week. Aren't they adorable? She is already 3 months old!!! She looks like a little cherub :) On Thursday, my department held our 2nd ESL Family Night of the school year. We had a decent turn out, considering the weather was rainy and the roads were icy... The families were served dinner and then taught games they could play at home to increase their English language acquisition. We were very fortunate to have several staff members help out with this event. I created a total of 4 games for the families to play. They were all vocabulary based and related to nouns, verbs, adjectives and question words.
Then on Saturday, I went to the local high school to support our 4th and 5th grade girls as they performed their step/dance routine. You may recall that I helped out with "Inspire" last year as well. The girls did such a GREAT job!!! This was their first perfomance of the year! They perfomed during half-time of the neighboring high school's Varsity basketball game. I was so proud of them :) The middle and high school girls performed as well. They are in the purple and black shirts... The weather was much milder this week... We had temps in the 40's and 50's. I put up our Valentine's Day decorations... All of the snow melted and I was able to go outside and switch out our Christmas flowers and add some pretty pink tulips to our flower boxes... Then on Sunday, we headed over to the Gilbert's house to watch the Colts battle the Jets for the AFC Championship. Here is Brian chopping some green onions... Sabrina making South Beach Diet Phase 2 Peanut Butter Cookies...Yum-Yum!!! Me and Sabrina :) Cutie Pie Layne :) Brian holding Elise :) Do you like Elise's socks? I bought them for her. They were so darling~ I couldn't resist... Steave, Kristin, me, Eric and Elise relaxing on the sofa...
Colts Cutie! Lisa and Sabrina :) GO HORSE!!! Here is a pic of all the gals... And the guys~ Thanks for being good sports! They HATE when I take pics of them...As you can imagine, we were all "over the moon" when we found out our Colts made it to the Super Bowl!!! Brian busted out the champagne to celebrate! Cheers Indianapolis!!! We decided to have the Super Bowl party on our street (Everyone else lives on the cul-de-sac behind us). The first part will take place at our house and the evening will end at Steave and Lisa's.Have a fantastic week everyone! Super Bowl time in 2 weeks B-A-B-Y!!!! Time to beat dem Saints!!!

Until next time...xo

Snowy Start to the New Year!

This BLOG post is very typical for the first week of January. We are dieting as a result of all the calories we consumed over the holidays, and we had to go back to work. We got hit heavy with snow and Winter is in full effect. It has been an average week in the life of Brooke and Ryan Beavers.

Snow and sunshine were seen...

There were some smiles...Some Goofing Around...
Some lovin'... The diet is going well. We are back on South Beach. Ryan has lost 8 pounds and I have lost 4. We are hittin' up the gym 2-3 times per week and feeling great! We should be at our goal weights by Spring Break, which works out perfectly. :) Healthy eating sucks, but if you stick with it, it works like a charm. It is AMAZING what white flour and sugar does to your waistline!!!This week we got over 5 inches of snow! It is absolutely gorgeous to look at, but not so fun to shovel. We had to go to work- No snow days for us...BOO!!!While we were at work, the snow kept accumulating and accumulating! Our driveway was soooo covered, we couldn't drive up it.I stuck the shovel in the snow to give you a perspective on how deep the snow was...So we decided to shovel...Whew! This is tough work!!! Ryan following behind me...Working his way down to the end of the drive-way.
Shoveling the front walkway...Tah-Dah! The snow is soooo pretty. I love when it covers the plants.A "Snow BLOG" would not be complete without our little Sammy running around in it! Go Sammy, Go!!!Snow is great, but enjoyed best from inside the home. Here is a view from our front door...And from the back slider... On Sunday, the sun decided to come out. Here is our "Home Sweet Home."Our street...The green belt across the street- not so green anymore! Haha! Our backyard... We hope everyone has a great week. Keep your fingers crossed for the Colts playoff game this weekend. We soooooo bad want to play and beat the Chargers-haha!
Until next time...xo
