On Thursday morning, we hopped in the car and headed out of Noblesville...
And drove 2 1/2 hours north to this lovely town...
We had been wanting to check out South Bend for sometime. We made reservations to stay at the Oliver Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was adorable...
The grounds were sooooooo pretty!
We stayed in the Knute Rockne room. He was a very famous former football coach at Notre Dame University.
The decor was very charming. Lots of Victorian detail...
This was the dining area. For breakfast, the Innkeeper made us strawberry pancakes and sweet and salty bacon...yum-yum!!!

After we checked in, we decided to walk around downtown South Bend...
On our walk we discovered that South Bend is home to the College Football Hall of Fame...
We decided to go on and give it a gander...

That evening, we walked around downtown South Bend and ate at CJ's Pub. There were shamrocks and Notre Dame flags everywhere!!!

The Notre Dame Campus was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Trees of all sorts were scattered about the campus...
The University has its own police and fire department...
Most of you probably know that Notre Dame is a Catholic University. There are several religious references on campus. This is the Grotto of Our Lady of Lordes...
Notre Dame has 2 lakes on campus!!!!
