Brown County Blast

This weekend was a BLAST!!! We went camping at Valley Branch Retreat in Brown County. The campsite is located about an hour and a half south of us. On Friday night, we packed up our car and were on our way!!!
'
Ryan was excited...
Me and Sabrina were excited... The best part was that Sabrina's husband Brian didn't have to work on Friday, so he drove down to our campsite at noon and set up all of our tents while the rest of us were at work!!! As soon as we got there, all we had to do was make a fire and RELAX!!! Thanks, Brian- YOU ROCK!!!

Here are the guys applying the skills they have learned on Discovery Channel's "Survivor Man.
Here we are enjoying the fire :)
Liz, me and Sabrina posing for a shot...btw is this anyone's sweatshirt???? I found it in my laundry and wore it all weekend- I've never seen it before. Carrie and Andrea, you two went to USC and have visited me in Indy...is it one of yours??? Let me know or else I'm claiming it!!! We stayed up until 2 in the morning, and then decided it was time for bed. It was pretty chilly in our tent. I slept in my clothes....even with my jacket and beanie on. I was warm and slept great, but Ryan says he froze his buns off...doesn't he look like the Hungry Caterpillar?
In the morning we got to see what our campsite looked like in the daylight. Wasn't it pretty???"Bright-eyed and Bushy-tailed"....here are Eric and Ryan:Me and my three beautiful neighbors Sabrina, Kristin and Liz:This picture is of me and Eric. Eric was making fun of me because I was bundled up...he was in shorts and bare-feet all day. He said I was a "California Sissy," but everyone else was bundled up too. Hmmmmm.....maybe he is just a Freak of Nature- at least that's what he looks like in this picture. We had a great campsite. We had the most secluded spot and were surrounded by trees:
Here are Brian and Zach ready to play a friendly game of Cornhole. Do you like the boards? Zach made and painted them:Here are Kristen and Sabrina getting in on the fun:After the cornhole, the girls and I walked down to the lake. It was a sight to see. LOVELY, LOVELY:I still can't believe how wooded and hilly Indy is...before we were seriously looking into moving here, I had always pictured it to be FLAT and BROWN. I was sooooooo wrong!!!Here is a cute pic of Ryan strummin' the guitar:Liz and Kristin making smores:
YUMMY!!!!

Here comes the BEST part of the trip....Fire, Food and Friends!!!Here is our neighbor Zach:My Guitar Hero Husband:Okay, brace yourselves...I have video of Zach and Ryan UNPLUGGED. Seriously boys, DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOBS!!!!! (You will need to scroll down to the bottom of this page and pause the music player before playing this video, so you can experience this once in a lifetime performance).

I love you, Ryan!!!
The morning we had to leave. It was an awesome trip and I'm sure the beginning of many...
I enjoyed the view on the way home...Oh and the scenery wasn't too shabby either...heehee :)We are looking forward to this week. We both have Thursday and Friday off for "Fall Break." Yay- a 4 day weekend-WOO-HOO!!! We never had "Fall Break" in California...must be a Hoosier thing....

Man, we need it- teaching the youth of America is a FULFILLING, but EXHAUSTING task....
Just ask Ryan...

Until next time...xo
P.S. Congrats to our friend, Ryan Madson!!! Good luck in the World Series. You have some fans in Indy that will be cheering you on!!!

Cornhole?! Have you ever seen that in Cali? We saw that for the first time down here - weird.

Your campsite is great. I can't wait to go next month - we don't have time until then.
