Fall Break Fun
Hey everybody- can you believe it is already the end of October??? WOW, time is just flying by!!! Ryan and I enjoyed our 4 -day Fall Break. We had a lot of fun, but were also very productive!!!On Thursday and Friday, we cleaned out our garage- WHAT A HORRIFIC NIGHTMARE!!! The weather was our motivator. Last week, we had our first frost and our windshields were covered with ice. Not fun when you are running late and waiting for your car to "defrost." We both agreed we need to start parking indoors. Man, we had our work cut out for us-
We went to Home Depot and purchased materials to build some shelves. Here is Ryan hard at work:
We had sooooooo much CRAP. It was unreal- how can two people accumulate so much junk???
Among the junk, we did find a couple of TREASURES! Ryan found the racecar his grandfather made for him and I found the Snoopy cookie jar Papa and Tutu gave me on my first birthday.
Some things we had to part with. It was time for the Teddy Bear I made Ryan in middle school to go live in the landfill...
It was falling apart and had seen its last days. So long, old friend...
By the end of the two days, we were EXHAUSTED, but soooo relieved to have a garage we can actually use now! TA-DA!
We reached our goal of being able to park both cars in the garage...something that will be necessary in a couple of weeks when it starts to snow.
We also bought some things to "Winterize" our lawn and driveway...these are our projects for next weekend- FUN FUN :)
To celebrate our hard work, we went out to dinner with our friends Liz and Eric.
On Friday night, we had a Poker Party at our house. We were FINALLY able to use our upstairs loft area. Our neighbors Eric, Zach, Brian and Mike came over, along with my co-worker Amanda's husband, David to join Ryan in a little friendly wager...
Eric was the BIG WINNER of the evening...
The girls hung out downstairs. Here are Liz and Kristin posing with Layne. Layne is Zach and Kristin's little boy. He is only a few days older than my nephew Dylan. I feel like being around Layne keeps me "in the loop" in regard to the milestones Dylan is reaching. When my sister Alyssa comes to visit, Dylan will have a little buddy to play with...
This is me and my friend Amanda. She teaches first grade at the school I work at. Her classroom is right next to mine.
On Saturday morning, we went OVER THE RIVER...
and THROUGH THE WOODS....
to Lafayette...
What's in Lafayette you say???
Purdue University!!! Saturday was Purdue's Homecoming. Our neighbors Liz, Eric and Brian went to Purdue and invited us to go tailgate with them...
Here is Ryan sporting his Cal State sweatshirt...heehee :) Gotsta Represent Woot Woot!!
Throwin' the pigskin around...
Smiling for the camera...CHEESE :)
Playing some Cornhole- Here are Brian and his friend, Mark:
